BiographyHistory

Ike Harmston arrived in Australia at the age of three when he migrated with his family to live first at South Hurstville and later at Mardi. Leaving school at a young age, Harmston worked as a farmhand and, in 1948, took up employment with the Wyong Dairy Company. He remained there for forty years until his retirement.

Harmston married in 1943 and lived with his wife and their six children at Tuggerah for over forty years. In his final years, Harmston moved to Chittaway Bay. He died from cancer.
