'Max & Murray, simply, is the tragic and humorous tale of two flatmates living in the decaying inner-city of Sydney's Parramatta who share a common dislike of the world and latterly of each other. For Murray, working as a journalist for a local newspaper, surviving each day with a mixture of pot and a gambling addiction is akin to purgatory:
At times it's like a literary episode of Seinfeld and at others a commentary on AIDS, TV culture, women, being a man in the '90s, obsession, the media, Adam & Eve, political corruption, environmental terrorism, gambling addiction, homelessness and life in general. Max & Murray hovers between late night dialogue with each other and a diary written by both of them'. Jane Margetts http://www.thei.aust.com/isite/btl/btlrvmason.html
