BiographyHistory

Dodge Publishing Company, originally called Dodge Book and Stationery Company, was founded in San Francisco in 1895 as a publisher of calenders, stationery and gift books. The company moved to New York in 1898 as Dodge Stationery Company, and became Dodge Publishing Company in 1899. It published some literary titles, including original fiction. In 1928 it published Confiteor, a poetry collection by Adam Lindsay Gordon.

The company was purchased by Robert M. McBride in 1928, and ceased publishing in 1949 when McBride went bankrupt.
