BiographyHistory

Una Falkiner, nee Le Souef, was the daughter of Albert le Souef, founder of the Melbourne Zoo. She married Otway Falkiner in 1910, and they had three children. In her spare time Falkiner liked to paint, and later in life she began to write and illustrate children's stories. A portrait of Una Falkiner by Violet Teague hangs in the Art Gallery of NSW.
