BiographyHistory

Gordon Bilney was a member of Federal Parliament from 1983-1996 and before that an adviser to Gough Whitlam and a foreign diplomat. He held the marginal Adelaide seat of Kingston from the election of the Hawke government in 1983 until the defeat of the Keating government, when John Howard won power. Mr Bilney held ministries including defence science, development co-operation and Pacific island affairs.
