Rob Payne lived in Perth for about two years. He has edited two Canadian short story collections, Pop Goes the Story : Canadian Fiction Anthology (1999) and co-edited Carrying the Fire (1998). He has also written for the Globe and Mail, and magazines Canadian Fiction, Front & Centre, Zygote and Quarry. How to Be a Hero on Earth 5 (2006) has been nominated for the 2007 White Pine Award.
