BiographyHistory

Professor Jeannie Herbert PhD, MEd, BEd, DipT, TC grew up in Broome and was the first Indigenous Vice-Chancellor in Australia. Dr Herbert was appointed the Director of Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education in February 2006. Dr Herbert has also been the Chair of Indigenous Australian Studies at James Cook University in North Queensland and Head of the School of Indigenous Australian Studies at JCU.
