BiographyHistory

'Born and educated in Adelaide and Melbourne, M. F. McAuliffe has taught technical writing, media analysis and basic TV production to engineering and applied science students, and worked as a political pollster, technical editor, and librarian. She made her US publishing debut in Damon Knight's Clarion Awards. In the following 25 years she has published fiction and verse in such venues as Adelaide Review, Overland, Australian Short Stories, and siglo; in 2000 La Mama Courthouse Theatre (Carlton) used her long poem "Orpheus" as a libretto. In 2002 she co-founded the award-winning, Portland-based magazine, Gobshite Quarterly, where she continues as contributing editor (2009).' In 1982 McAuliffe moved to Los Angeles and then to Portland, Oregon in 1992.

McAuliffe has also had poetry published online in the Mexican ejournal, In Other Words : Merida and co-wrote and co-published Golems Waiting Redux (Portland, Oregon, Sept., 2011, GobQ/Publication Studio), an artist's book dealing with the social and political dimensions of the vandalizing of some exxperimental sculpture in Portland, on October, 2002.
