Nadia Jamal was born in Australia but raised in a traditional Lebanese Muslim family. After completing her education she joined the Sydney Morning Herald as a journalist in 1997. She has held numereous posts with this newspaper since then including the education and urban affairs writer, Night Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff.
