BiographyHistory

Joseph Graham O'Connor commenced business as a printer and engraver in York Street, Sydney in the late 1850s. The printing business, which had largely supported O'Connor's (mostly unsuccessful) newspaper ventures, finally failed around 1892, and O'Connor went to Newcastle, where he worked for the Water and Sewerage Board.

  • J. G. O'Connor also published the Illustrated Catholic Almanac. This publication is referred to in The Empire, 30 January 1868:2, but no further trace of its existence has yet been found. (Correct as of 29 January 2014.)
