1 One Too Many for Him A Quille Penne , 1881 single work novella romance Margaret Grey and Archie Darrell are engaged until she inherits her aunt's fortune and he feels honour-bound to break the engagement. Some months later he inherits twenty thousand pounds but his inheritance is still less than her's. On his return to the village he discovers that other relations have inherited the property which they are reducing to a shambles, and Madge, now apparently penniless, is governess to their terrible children. He persuades her to marry him, only to discover that she is actually still rich. Amusing romance with many references to Margaret/Madge/Peggy as Archie's 'property'.(PB) 'From Yankee Blade.
