Notes

  • Formally known as the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA), ScreenSound Australia operated under its new name between 1999 and 2004. It's role, as with the NFSA, was to continue documenting and interpreting the Australian experience (by collecting, storing, preserving and making available screen and sound material relevant to Australia's culture) and to actively contribute to the development of Australia's audiovisual industry. ScreenSound Australia became part of the Australian Film Commission from 1 July 2003. The following year the agency reverted back to its former name The National Film and Sound Archive (q.v.).
  • To visit the NFSA (formally ScreenSound Australia) website, including online catalogue, go to National Film and Sound Archive.
