BiographyHistory

Fert Berk was born in Turkey. He worked as a shepherd before turning to study. He studied in Edinburgh and York, and then completed a PhD in Social Work in Turkey.

In 1980 he migrated to Australia. He has worked as a teacher, lecturer, social worker, community worker, interpreter and translator. He initiated the 'Crescent' group for Turkish writers in Sydney. His articles, poetry and fiction have been published in journals, anthologies, magazines and newspapers in Australia, Turkey and the United States.
