BiographyHistory

As 'Fanny Fern', American novelist and journalist Sarah Parton wrote a regular column 'Fern Leaves' dealing with domestic issues and satirising the domination of women and children by men. Her work appeared in the Saturday Evening Post and the New York Ledger and her novel Ruth Hall was very popular, selling over 25, 000 copies.
