BiographyHistory

Carol Jones was born in Brisbane but has spent most of her life in Melbourne. She has been a secondary English teacher and a children's magazine editor and publisher. She has written young adult fiction, readers, school textbooks and other non-fiction books for children. Her works include several books for the Mathshelf series about mathematical concepts, written as fictional narratives, and for Macmillan Educational a series on foods (From Farm to You), one about Pacific island countries and another about early Australian towns.

  • Jones has published fiction readers for Primary and Secondary school children. They include: Just a Trucker's Luck (1997), Postcards from Hawaii (1997) and The First Move (1999)(Trend Fiction); Project X and The Trouble With Samson (both 2000) and Undercover Clown (Just Kids series); Mad Bad Barry (2003) (Awesome!
