Charles Taylor is described in the South Australian Register's review of his poem as 'a colonial youth, a graduate of Melbourne University, and a barrister-at-law'. A pencilled annotation opposite the t.p. of Summer Dreamings says: 'CF Taylor was at one time a member for Boroondara [Victoria] and lived in Mountfield St Camberwell. Lost money largely in Land Boom' [author of note unknown].
