BiographyHistory

Deborah Gare lectures in history at the University of Notre Dame Australia in Fremantle. She has previously been a Research Associate at Curtin University, a Visiting Scholar at the University of British Columbia and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Manchester. She is the author of a range of scholarly books and articles. Gare has written several commissioned histories of Western Australian organisations, including the Home of Peace (now the Brightwater Care Group) and, with Jean Chetkovich, the Silver Chain Nursing Association. Her research interests include Western Australian history, Australian historiography and Australia and Empire (2008).
