According to Stephen Vagg, Chris Gardner ' had moved from England to Australia in the early 1950s and was living in Woody Point (near Redcliffe) [in the laste 1950s]. Gardner started writing when briefly bed-ridden due to a slipped disc, then became more serious about it when she joined a Brisbane radio group in 1956.'
