BiographyHistory

Jazz and cabaret singer Pat Thompson performed with the Tivoli soubrettes before moving to a Victorian wheatbelt town during World War II. Later in life she formed a band with jazz pianist David Bates which toured Australia and Europe including the Edinburgh Festival in 1987.

Her autobiography She's a Fat Tart, Ain't She? was published in 2002, and she sang a farewell performance in Melbourne, Victoria, in 2008. Pat Thompson lived for some time in Bermagui, New South Wales, and spent the last two years of her life in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
