Founded in 2002 by writers Cat Sparks and Robert Hood, Agog! Press was an independent publisher specialising in speculative fiction anthologies. Its titles were published out of the University of Wollongong, situated in the Illawarra region of south-east New South Wales. In 2006 Sparks and Hood established a relationship with US publisher Prime Books. This led to international distribution of Agog! titles in both hard and soft cover editions. During its six years of operations Agog! produced ten anthologies of award winning, new and mostly Australian speculative fiction.
The Agog! titles are: Agog! Fantastic Fiction (2002), AustrAlien Absurdities (2002), Agog! Terrific Tales (2003), Agog! Smashing Stories (2004), Daikaiju!: Giant Monster Tales (2005), Agog! Ripping Reads (2006), Giants Monsters vs the World (2007) and Daikaiju!2: Revenge of the Giant Monsters (2007) and Canterbury 2100: Pilgrimages in a New World. The final Agog! anthology was the 2008 publication The Scary Food Cookbook: A Compendium of Gastronomic Atrocity, edited by Cat Sparks.
