BiographyHistory

Graham Fredriksen was raised on the family beef and dairy property at Sheep Station Creek, Kilcoy, where he spent the majority of his life.

While attending school in the area, he discovered a love for poetry and decided in 1996 to turn his efforts to writing. As more of his poems became published, the awards began to flow in and he became only the second person to win the Bronze Swagman Award three times in its 40-year history. The National Bush Poets Society also honoured him for the best collection of poetry published in 1999-2000 for his book Paradise Revisited, the sequel to Another Day in Paradise.

In 1997, Fredriksen was a founding member of the North Pine Bush Poets Group.
