BiographyHistory

Brian Doyle is a native of New York, was educated at the University of Notre Dame, and has been a magazine and newspaper journalist in Portland, Boston, and Chicago for more than twenty years. He is the author of nine books of essays, nonfiction, and 'proems,' and his work has been widely anthologised in American publications. In Australia his work appears in Eureka Street and The Age.

He has been the editor of Portland Magazine at the University of Portland. Doyle has been a regular visitor to Australia and has delivered speeches and lectures at a variety of venues, including the Australian Catholic University and Xavier College (both in Melbourne), and Aquinas Academy (Sydney).
