Not strictly a pseudonym, Oscar Oswald is the name of one of four personas or alter egos invented by Hardy. He is the fictitious author whose writing is the subject of one of Hardy's novels, The Obsession of Oscar Oswald. The other fictitious personalities are Truthful Jones and F. J. Borky and Ross Franklin.
