BiographyHistory

Fairbridge Farm was originally established for child migrants in 1913 by Kingsley Fairbridge (q.v.). In 1921 it operated as a combination of college and farm and continued to accept children until 1981. Since then it has been used in a number of (usually youth orientated) capacities. The farm is undergoing a conservation program and has been added to the List of the Register of the National Estate (Australia's premier list of heritage places) 'recognising...its role in a significant phase in Australia's migration history'.
