BiographyHistory

Norma Hemming migrated to Australia in 1949, where she became a frequent contributor to local science fiction periodicals, chiefly Thrills Incorporated, renowned for its all-Australian content. Hemming also wrote a few plays for Sydney's annual Science Fiction Conventions: That's the Way It Goes (1954), The Carson Effect (1955) and The Matriarchy of Renok (1958). She had produced only a couple of dozen science fiction short stories before her promising career was cut short by breast cancer at the age of 32.
