Patricia Kotai-Ewers held a PhD from Murdoch University (awarded in 2014), and in 2015 was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for services to literature and to people with dementia.
She taught languages in Western Australian schools for over 20 years, and was President of FAWWA (Fellowship of Australian Writers [WA]) for 17 years.
