BiographyHistory

Journalist and author.

In 2011, Megalogenis was shortlisted for the Queensland Premier's Literary Award (Literary or Media work Advancing Public Debate) for Quarterly Essay 40: Trivial Pursuit - Leadership and the End of the Reform Era.

The Australian Moment: How We Were Made for These Times won the 2012 Queensland Literary Awards (Literary or Media Work Advancing Public Debate Harry Williams Award) and the 2013 Prime Minister's Literary Award (Non-Fiction). It also formed the basis for the ABC documentary series Making Australia Great.

His Australia's Second Chance was shortlisted for the Nettie Palmer Prize for Non-fiction at the 2016 Victorian Premier's Awards and for the General Non-Fiction Book of the Year category of the ABIAs.

His other works include Faultlines, The Longest Decade, and Quarterly Essay 61: Balancing Act – Australia Between Recession and Renewal.
