BiographyHistory

Walker and Company was founded by Samuel S. Walker, Edmund Stillman and John Kirk. Their first premises were at 35 West Fifty-third Street and they later moved to Fifth Avenue. The company published a highly successful English-style mystery series known as Connoisseur Mystery from 1961. Science fiction became a minor specialty in the late 1960s. As of 2005, Walker Publishing Company, Inc. is a subsidiary of Bloomsbury Publishing Plc.
