BiographyHistory

Lyndal Jones has been a performance artist and theorist in Australia and overseas. One of Australia's foremost multidisciplinary artists, she was chosen by the Australia Council as the sole Australian exhibitor at the 2001 Biennale of Venice. She has had numerous solo exhibitions both in Australia and overseas, including shows in the USA, the Netherlands, Japan, Korea, Germany, and the UK, and her work has appeared in the Melbourne International Biennial in 1999, Perspecta in 1997 and the Biennale of Sydney in 1996.

Jones has been Artist in Residence at ARTEC, London (1999-2000), an Art Fellow in Media at the University of Paisley, Scotland (1997/8), and has received the prized Australian Artists Creative Fellowship (1992-1996). Jones was appointed to the visual arts board of the Australia Council in 2008 and she has also been a professor in the School of Creative Media, RMIT.
