Christina Twomey is professor of History in the School of Historical Studies, Monash University, where she was previously a senior lecturer in the field. She received her PhD from the University of Melbourne, and held positions at Deakin University and the University of Adelaide before her appointment to Monash University in 2003.
Her research focuses on the impact of major dislocations and traumatic events in Australian history, at both the individual level and in terms of the broader cultural response to them. In 2018, her most recent monograph was The Battle Within: POWs in Postwar Australia.
