BiographyHistory

Hilton Walsh was an artisan who carved emu eggs. Much of the cultural knowledge he used in his carvings was passed to him by his grandmother Annie Hamilton who would tell him stories in his sleep.

In 2021, participating in program Who Do You Think You Are?, actor Jack Charles—a member of the Stolen Generations who was removed from family aged four months—discovered that his father was Hilton Hamilton Walsh.

Some sources (including Wikipedia, as of 23 July 2024) identity Walsh as a Wiradjuri man, but Jack Charles described him to the Yoorrook Justice Commission as a Yorta YortaTaungurung man.
