BiographyHistory

John Hamilton Ltd, managed by Charles H. Daniels and Mary F. Daniels, were 'publishers concentrating on books concerned in any way with aviation and aeronautics, also cookery books and some general fiction (especially thrillers)' (D. Kilham Roberts, The Authors, Playwrights & Composers Handbook for 1935 p.194). The firm's magazine Popular Flying, launched in 1932, was edited by W. E. Johns and featured the first appearance of his famous fictional airman James Bigglesworth ('Biggles').

Many John Hamilton titles were distributed in Canada by their agent S. J. Reginald Saunders.
