Barbara Temperton lives in Albany, Western Australia teaching English at the University of Western Australia's Albany Centre. She has completed an English postgraduate diploma at Curtin University, an English and Comparative Literature Degree at Murdoch University and a Creative Writing Degree at the University of Western Australia. Temperton has worked as a box office clerk, a tutor and an Arts Centre caretaker. In 1990, she was the Literature Officer at the Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers' Centre. She has published and broadcast fiction, poetry and nonfiction in journals, newspapers, anthologies and on the radio. Temperton has received many commendations as well as winning a number of prizes for her work.
