BiographyHistory

Charles Cozens arrived in Sydney Harbour in 1840 after a four month voyage aboard the convict transport ship Woodbridge. As a military prisoner he served his seven year sentence in New South Wales working mainly in the Monaro and Yass districts. He returned to England in 1848 and documented his experiences in Australia in his book Adventures of a Guardsman.
