BiographyHistory

Exiled from Hungary, Margaret was given refuge at the court of Malcolm III of Scotland. She later married Malcolm.
She is remembered for her piety, care for the poor and her royal benefactions. Margaret was canonized in 1250 and became the patroness of Scotland in 1673.
