BiographyHistory

In 1996, Joan Katherine Webster was living in Melbourne. A former nurse, Webster became a professional writer. Her work for Australian television includes contributions to drama series Homicide and Bellbird, and the 1960s comedy programme, The Mavis Brampston Show. She is a poet, lyricist, children's writer, journalist and historian. Her most widely known work is The Complete Bushfire Safety Book. She has two daughters.
