BiographyHistory

A political writer, journalist and satirist, Mungo MacCallum published a number of works including Mungo's Canberra (1977), Mungo on the Zoo Plane (1979), How To Be a Megalomaniac, or, Advice To a Young Politician (2002) and Run, Johnny, Run (2004).

MacCallum was a political journalist for many years, writing for Nation Review, the National Times, the Australian and the Sydney Morning Herald. In 2001, he published the autobiographical Mungo: The Man Who Laughs; charting the 'events and people who shaped our history'; this work has been described as a 'memoir' which focuses on Australian political life.

MacCallum's father was the journalist and writer, Mungo (Ballardie) MacCallum .
