Kay Donovan was born in Townsville and grew up in north and central Queensland. She is an award-winning television producer and director. Her documentary, Being True Blue, won the media award of the Order of Australia Association, and she has received special citations in the United Nations Media Peace Prize. Bush Oranges is her first novel.
