BiographyHistory

Raised on a farm in Tasmania, Lisa Thompson studied performing at the Western Australian Academy for the Performing Arts, New York University and the University of Salvador, Brazil. She has a BA in English from the University of Western Australia, and is a graduate of the Australian Film, TV and Radio School (Screenwriting). Her play 'The Alligator Smile' was staged at La Mama, Melbourne and Belvoir Street Theatre, Sydney, in 1991, and was nominated for the Premier's Literature Awards. She also played Maria-Elena Holly in the long running musical, Buddy : The Buddy Holly Story in its 1992 Australian and New Zealand tour.
