BiographyHistory

Paul Valery is regarded by many as the greatest French writer of the twentieth century. His work encompassed poetry, mathematics, theater, physics, politics, and sociology. His masterpiece is considered to be La Jeune Parque (1917), and his poem 'Cimetiere Marin' (first published 1920) is one of his most popular and widely translated works.
