BiographyHistory

Richard Madelaine was educated at the University of Adelaide, graduating with a BA (Hons), and the University of London, where he wrote a PhD thesis on stage imagery in Jacobean drama.

Madelaine is the editor of Antony and Cleopatra (1998) in the Shakespeare in Production series by Cambridge University Press, joint series editor of the Bell Shakespeare series, and joint editor with John Golder  of O Brave New World : two centuries of Shakespeare on the Australian stage (2001).

He has been an Associate Professor at the School of English at the University of New South Wales.
