Dedication: As representatives of the splendid youth of New Zealand, and especially of those who formed the great Radio-family during the four years in which I had the honour of being their Uncle Leo, I dedicate this book to Pat, Dick and Dorjean who with their dog appear in one of its chapters, and to Keith who had no dog and therefore does not appear in the book.
These all heard the stories, here told, over the air, from iTA Station, Auckland, N.Z- when the Radio Uncles and Aunties were as near and dear to them as their own flesh and blood. Happy days, with affection and real service mingling. Romantic days, when the Radio was in its infancy, and brought a charming sense of novelty to lonely country children, as well as to the children of the cities.
