BiographyHistory

An eighteenth-century English writer, journalist and spy whose Robinson Crusoe, published in 1719, is his most famous work. The Fortunes and Misfortunes of the Famous Moll Flanders, published in 1722, is sometimes given the status of the first modern novel and was banned in Australia in 1930.
