BiographyHistory

William J. Lines grew up in the (then) outer Perth suburb of Gosnells in Western Australia. He completed a Bachelor of Economics degree in 1973 at the University of Western Australia and then travelled extensively, working in a number of labouring and manual jobs. He is the author of a number of works concerned with the destruction of Australia's natural environment including Taming the Great South Land : A History of the Conquest of Nature in Australia.
