Biologist, anthropologist and philosopher, Thomas Henry Huxley was the grandfather of Aldous Huxley

'In July 1847, shortly after arriving in Sydney', Thomas Henry Huxley met Henrietta Anne Heathorn, 'a brewer's daughter born in the West Indies and [...] keeping house for her brother-in-law William Fanning.' Impulsive by nature, 'Huxley became engaged to her on their sixth meeting...After an eight-year engagement Nettie arrived in London in May 1855; she and Huxley were married at All Saints' Church, Finchley Road, on 21 July.'
