BiographyHistory

Ng Mei Kwan was born and raised in Hong Kong. She graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1986 and subsequently taught Communications and Chinese at Baptist College. After her arrival in Australia, Ng undertook a Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Sydney researching women poets of the Qing Dynasty. She was a columnist and editor of poetry quarterlies in Hong Kong, and is a writer of poetry, prose, novels and art criticism. Ng's poetry collection, We Are So Close, was an Outstanding Entry in the first Hong Kong Biennial Award for Chinese Literature.
