BiographyHistory

Painter, printmaker and teacher, Margaret Preston 'concentrated on still life rather than figure study, seeking to reinvent the genre, with inspiration from Aboriginal art. Her hand-coloured woodcuts of flowers gave a modern look' to subject matter that was traditionally regarded.
