BiographyHistory

After twenty years of working as a painter and printmaker in the United Kingdom, John Wolseley settled in Australia in 1976 and continued his career, travelling and painting throughout Australia.

In 2005, Wolseley was awarded the Australia Council Visual Arts Emeritus Award for his career in creating artworks that explore the often-complex relationship with the Australian landscape. He also received an Honorary Doctor of Science from Macquarie University. Wolseley's work is represented in Australian state galleries and numerous public and private collections.
