Trevor Hay has lived and worked in China and speaks Mandarin Chinese. His research fields of interest include narrative structure in Chinese theatre and bilingual storytelling techniques for Chinese teachers and children. He has worked as a consultant to Kinderworld, Singapore on bilingual education in early childhood, as a consultant to Ling Nan International School, Guangzhou, China on bilungual education and also as a Senior Lecturer (Curriculum, Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Education) at The University of Melbourne.
