Fred Malcolm according to
Walter Stone (q.v.) was 'a
character among Sydney booksellers...for years he was regarded as Sydney's expert in erotica.' Malcolm was mentioned in Moore's
History of Australian Art as the owner of one of the disputed portraits by Nerli of Robert Louis Stevenson. Because of that he was mentioned in
Along the Castlereagh, a four page folder in doggerel verse by
A.G. Stephens (q.v.) that mentioned the booksellers in what was 'Booksellers' Row' in 1924. Sixty copies, signed and numbered, comprised the edition.
